MultiChoice has announced that is has added 22 channels to its DStv Now streaming service, bringing the total number of live channels to 46 and stepping up the rivalry with sister company ShowMax.
DStv Now can be accessed online — by using a PC or Mac, for example — or through an app for tablets and smartphones.
Although the app can be used by all DStv customers, live channels and Catch Up content is available only to DStv Premium subscribers who also have an active personal video recorder decoder.
The platform now offers access to a range of premium channels, including M-Net, M-Net Edge, M-Net Movies Premiere and most of the SuperSport channels.
Graeme Cumming, who heads DStv Digital Media, said the number of channels available through DStv Now has been expanding steadily.
Customers, he said, expect to be able to watch television anywhere and at any time.
