Head of FNB Connect ISP and business operations for FNB Mobile and Connect, Farren Roper, has resigned after five years at the company to pursue an undisclosed business venture in the telecommunications sector.
Roper is an admitted attorney and an executive director of Connect First Telecoms, a subsidiary of FNB parent FirstRand.
Roper joined FNB in 2008 as head of legal, risk and compliance, before moving to head up Connect ISP and business operations a year later, where he worked on strategy, new product development and was part of the team that took FNB’s transactional banking applications for mobile devices to market.
FNB says Roper has left the bank but that he has done so on good terms and is “going on to pursue an entrepreneurial venture that can’t yet be discussed”.
According to the bank, Roper’s roles will not be filled by means of new appointments. Instead, these responsibilities will be absorbed into the existing team at FNB Mobile and Connect. — (c) 2013 NewsCentral Media
