Liquid Telecom South Africa CEO Kyle Whitehill has resigned and will leave the company effective 20 March 2018. He will have been in the role for less than a year.
In a statement on Friday, the Econet Group-controlled Liquid Telecom said Whitehill will return to the UK “to be with his family”.
Liquid Telecom group CEO Nic Rudnick said Whitehill’s family remained in the UK during his time in South Africa.
“We thank Kyle for his determination and drive that have seen the company go through many positive changes and renewed focus.”
A successor to Whitehill, a former CEO of both Vodafone Qatar and Vodafone Ghana, is still to be named.
Liquid Telecom appointed Whitehill following its acquisition a year ago of Neotel in a R6.5bn deal.
Earlier this week, Liquid Telecom announced it had invested more than R1.3bn into significantly expanding its data centre facilities in Johannesburg and Cape Town. — (c) 2018 NewsCentral Media
