Apple is releasing a significant upgrade to its computer operating system, Mac OS X, around mid-year. Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, the successor to 10.6 Snow Leopard, includes new features such as “mission control”, “launchpad”, “categories”, full-screen apps and a new version of Mail.app. It also borrows a number of ideas from iOS, the system software that powers the iPhone and the iPad.
The new operating system is still in beta, but has been released to developers. This video, courtesy of iOS4Life.com, demonstrates many of the new features that will be included in the software. — Staff reporter, TechCentral
