Enviro Automotive is gearing up to introduce the most affordable electric vehicle yet seen in the South African market.
The Dayun Yuehu, from China, will be branded as the Dayun S5 Mini SUV in South Africa and will be launched by the end of 2024.
The four-seater compact SUV will feature a 31.7kWh ternary lithium battery, offering a range of 330km and a top speed of 100km/h, making it ideal for urban commuting.
The vehicle boasts a modern interior equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel and a digital instrument panel. Convenience features include central locking, electric windows and air conditioning that can be operated remotely via an app, allowing drivers to start the vehicle before entering.
The Dayun S5 Mini SUV will come with a three-year or 60 000km service plan and warranty. Priced below R400 000, it looks set to be the most affordable EV in South Africa when it launches. Currently, South Africa’s least expensive EV is the GWM Ora, priced at R687 000.
Enviro Automotive also offers a range of last-mile delivery vehicles. Sales representative Francois Malan of Enviro Automotive told TechCentral the company is in talks with a few firms interested in buying the vehicles. – © 2024 NewsCentral Media
