Cell C CEO Alan Knott-Craig earlier on Monday suffered what the company is describing as a “minor stroke”.
“He is currently recovering in hospital and is responding well to treatment,” Cell C said in a statement. “He is expected to make a full recovery.”
The company said Cell C chief commercial officer Jose Dos Santos will act as CEO until Knott-Craig is able to return to work.
“The board and staff wish Alan a speedy recovery,” Cell C said.
“No further information can be provided at this stage and we kindly ask that his privacy be respected at this time,” it said.
