Brand de Villiers has resigned from his post as CEO of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and has taken up a post at MultiChoice.
According to the PSL’s Twitter account, its chairman, Irvin Khoza, confirmed that the outgoing CEO had been “poached” by Multichoice.
“It’s the CEO’s last day. He has been poached by MultiChoice,” said Khoza.
“We want to wish Brand de Villiers well in his future endeavours. He has done well in the short time he was with us.”
De Villiers says that working with the PSL was an unbelievable opportunity.
“I can only say it was an unbelievable opportunity to work with the PSL,” De Villiers said via Twitter.
“I think in December it was going to be two-and-a-half years with the PSL.”
De Villiers did not give too much away about his new post.
“I took up a position with MultiChoice that deals with strategy.”
Golden Arrows chairman Mato Madlala will serve as the league’s acting CEO until a permanent replacement is found. — Sport24
