Microsoft has announced that it has expanded its online store to South Africa. The website, available at microsoftstore.co.za, sells Microsoft software and hardware as well as products from the company’s partners.
“We recognise that South Africans are first-class citizens,” said Microsoft South Africa executive Anthony Doherty.
Doherty said South Africa is a maturing market for e-commerce and so it made sense to launch the store now. Orders placed with the store will be delivered free of charge.
“It is a great shopping experience for Windows devices, Xbox, Lumia, Office and all the accessories.”
Doherty made the announcement at the launch on Tuesday of Microsoft’s new Lumia Windows 10 smartphones in South Africa.
The company announced the immediate availability of the 5,2-inch Lumia 950 at a recommended retail price of R10 549 and the 5,7-inch Lumia 950XL at R11 499.
The company is selling the phones with a free Fitbit Flex activity tracker. — (c) 2015 NewsCentral Media
