Norbert Claussen, CEO of Altron subsidiary Powertech, has resigned from his position at the company. He has also stepped down as a director of the Altron board. His departure is effective from 30 June.
Claussen joined the Altron group in 1996 as CEO of Willard Batteries. The division expanded to become the Powertech Battery Group, comprising Willard Batteries, Dynamic Batteries, Sabat Batteries and Battery Technologies.
In March 2001, Claussen was appointed CEO of Powertech. Between 2006 and 2008 it was the largest contributor to the Altron group’s bottom line.
“After many years in a corporate environment, I am taking the opportunity to become a shareholder in a smaller private business unrelated to the power electronics industry,” he says.
Altron says an announcement regarding Claussen’s successor will be made in due course and that the company is considering both internal and external candidates. — (c) 2012 NewsCentral Media
