ICT industry veteran Brian Seligmann was killed in a freak accident on Sunday. Seligmann, who was an early pioneer of Apple computers in South Africa, reportedly died after being electrocuted while mowing the grass verge outside his Johannesburg home.
The highly knowledgeable and highly personable Seligmann was in the process of launching a new fibre and wireless communications business called EvoNet, a company formed out of the Crystal Web stable. He was working with another well-known industry veteran, Crystal Web founder Shaun Kaplan, in launching the company.
Seligmann, who started his career at Apple, worked for several big companies in the sector, including MTN, Cell C and Huawei. A passionate technologist, he was instrumental in ensuring fibre-to-the-home was rolled out in Gallo Manor, where he lived.
TechCentral offers its condolences to Seligmann’s family and friends on his untimely passing. — (c) 2018 NewsCentral Media
