There is an agreement on the table between MTN and striking workers, the Communication Workers Union (CWU) said on Wednesday.
“There is a settlement agreement in principle with MTN,” general secretary Aubrey Tshabalala told reporters outside the mobile network’s office in Fairland, Johannesburg.
“There is an agreement on the table.”
He said the CWU was waiting for MTN to sign the agreement. However, he claimed there were managers, whom he described as “serial liars”, who were not signing it because they were hoping workers would lose hope and give up.
CWU workers at MTN have been striking since 20 May. — News24
