Oracle has unveiled an operating system that runs without the need for human oversight, part of a raft of new software tools meant to ease the company’s rocky transition to cloud computing.
Oracle said CEO Mark Hurd will take a leave of absence for health-related reasons. Founder Larry Ellison and Safra Catz, who shares the CEO role with Hurd, will assume Hurd’s responsibilities during his absence.
Oracle has reported sluggish quarterly sales and projected anaemic growth in the current period, signalling it continues to stumble in its transition to cloud computing.
