The sale of SA technology powerhouse Dimension Data to Japan’s Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (NTT) is a big step closer.
The companies announced on Thursday that NTT’s proposed R24,4bn buy-out of Didata has been given the nod by both the European Commission and Australia’s Foreign Investment Board.
NTT and Didata announced the proposed sale in the middle of July and at the time the SA company said it had already received commitments to support the deal from more than half of its shareholders.
Didata on Thursday released its interim management statement sporting financials that will likely please NTT.
The SA business lifted sales by 22% over the same period in 2009 and indicated that all its regions enjoyed revenue growth. — Staff reporter, TechCentral
