Huge Group is hiring senior Reunert executive Andy Openshaw as its new chief operating officer. He will join Huge when his restraints of trade with Reunert are either waived or fulfilled.
Openshaw has spent the past 10 years at ECN, a company he joined as chief sales and commercial officer. ECN was sold to Reunert in 2011, after which he was appointed as ECN CEO.
“Under his leadership ECN has become one of South Africa’s leading voice and data service providers, selling in excess of 1.2 billion voice minutes a year,” Huge Group said in a statement to shareholders.
“He successfully leveraged the ECN offerings through a wide base of channel partners including the Reunert-owned Nashua franchise channel, making it a significant contributor to Reunert.”
In October 2016, Openshaw was appointed as CEO of the Reunert communication cluster.
Openshaw holds a B Pharm degree from Rhodes University. He has also completed the Advanced Executive Programme at the Unisa School of Business Leadership.
“Andy’s knowledge of the ICT industry, his entrepreneurship, passion for growing businesses and his demonstrated ability to successfully operate within a large listed conglomerate makes him the ideal chief operating officer for Huge,” the group said in a statement. “He will assume responsibility for extracting value from Huge’s current real estate of customers, which now exceeds 50 000, and thereafter growing it both organically and by acquisition.” — © 2018 NewsCentral Media
