The digital world is a lot like the physical world, where you are more at risk of being attacked if you are not really on top of your survival game.

That’s where cybersecurity steps in. It is an absolutely crucial priority for businesses to protect information, save data and control privacy. Cyberattacks have the potential to make an organisation’s information inaccessible, thereby impacting their reputation leading to financial consequences.

Cybercriminals are inventing newer techniques to gather information. The domino effect on the economy and businesses alike sparks off the urgent need to implement cybersecurity strategies. The only real way to ensure that you are protected against cyberthreats, frauds and attacks is to have a resilient cybersecurity framework in place.

Join the experts at Liquid Intelligent Technologies, together with TechCentral, in this “science of cybersecurity” webinar and learn how you can protect yourself and your business from cyberattacks.

    Register now
    Date: Tuesday, 18 August 2021
    Time: 10am to 11am

While attendance is free, space is limited. We are pleased to offer you preferential access to this event.

    The line-up includes:

    Deon Geyser, CEO
Deon Geyser was recently appointed as CEO of Liquid Intelligent Technologies and brings over 15 years’ experience in the ICT and telecommunications space, having worked in different countries in Africa. He is responsible for the leadership, strategy and operations of Liquid in South Africa.

Before joining Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Geyser was the MD for Nokia Southern Africa (from 2015 to 2020); he was responsible for the complete P&L for Nokia in the 13 countries in his region of responsibility. During his tenure, he was involved in several 4G and 5G launches, network virtualisation and software transformation programmes, fibre-to-the-home deals, IP and optical network deals, and large-scale managed services contracts.

Under his dynamic leadership, Nokia Southern Africa was recognised as one of the top performing regions in the Africa and Middle East region consecutively for six years. His guidance also ensured his team was afforded the CEO award for the Best Business Partner by the Vodacom CEO twice.

Ignus de Villiers, group head, cybersecurity
Ignus joined Liquid Intelligent Technologies in May 2021 as group head of cybersecurity. He is responsible for the external cybersecurity strategy and business success of Liquid.

He has been involved in various technical and non-technical ICT roles since 1986 and in senior management roles at Nanoteq, BCX and Nexio before joining Liquid. He has been involved in cybersecurity since 1988 and was the chief information security officer at the JSE for four years while working at BCX. De Villiers holds an MSc in information security from Royal Holloway, University of London.

    Boyd Chislett, chief business officer
The ICT industry is renowned for its pace, commoditisation, high customer demands and the necessity to manage, adapt and lead in a rapidly evolving economy and market. It is this experience and exposure in the ICT industry that has provided Chislett with the experience that allows him to operate in very diverse and challenging environments.

Chislett has a strong track record of delivery through managing large teams, strong customer relationships, structured management of customer experience and large-scale multi-geography distribution. He holds Advanced Management Programme (Harvard Business School – Boston, US) and bachelor of social sciences (University of Natal) degrees.

Craig van Rooyen, chief commercial officer
Craig van Rooyen joined Liquid in September 2019 as chief operations officer. He is directly responsible for strategic and operational leadership across the business. He is passionate about using Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ extensive network and products to provide education and improve access to health and create jobs.

Van Rooyen previously held senior management and executive positions in large companies such as SABC, Telkom and Vodacom, across commercial and technology divisions. He has achieved success in developing and selling solutions that enable telecoms and broadcasting service providers to efficiently deliver high-quality services over broadband access networks while leveraging investment in their network infrastructure.

He holds a PhD in the management of technology, an MBA, and a national technical diploma in telecoms. He is member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers.

    Daniel Robus, host
In addition to being TechCentral’s host and moderator, Robus is a business consultant – perpetually curious, and with a strong foundation at the crossroads between business and technology.
