Datatec subsidiary Logicalis has acquired Singapore-based unified communications business Touchbase for an undisclosed amount. JSE- and London-listed Datatec says Touchbase has annual revenues of around US$8m.
Touchbase will be integrated into Logicalis’s Singapore operation.
Datatec CEO Jens Montanana says Touchbase brings with it a large client base and will help Logicalis to boost its presence in the Asia Pacific region.
The transaction is the latest in a string of acquisitions Datatec has made this year. At the beginning of the year, the group bought Asia-Pacific’s Netstar Group for almost US$20m.
In April, it acquired an Indian management consulting business called BDA Connect. Last week, Datatec has acquired security distributor Biodata.
Datatec also hopes to acquire South African distribution business Comztek. It has offered R97m offer to the distributor’s shareholders, which include Mustek. If the deal goes through, Datatec will integrate Comztek into its Westcon business. — Staff reporter, TechCentral
