Microsoft on Tuesday took the wraps off Windows 8, its forthcoming operating system for PCs and tablets, with the president of its Windows and Windows Live division describing it as a “reimagination of Windows”.
The new operating system, which is expected to make its debut in the first half of 2012, includes a redesigned user interface calls Metro, touch-browsing for tablets, a new browser in Internet Explorer 10, and a Windows Store for application purchases. (See accompanying story.)
