Cell C on Tuesday announced a new prepaid call tariff of just 66c/minute on per-second billing and also cut the price of three new contract plans to 79c/minute, also on per-second billing.
TechCentral editor Duncan McLeod sat down with the mobile operator’s chief financial officer, Robert Pasley, to discuss the price war in South Africa’s mobile industry.
Specifically, McLeod asked Pasley whether he feels the aggressive price reductions being introduced by the industry are good for consumers in the long term, or whether they will in fact harm the industry.
He also asked Pasley about the state of Cell C’s balance sheet and the company’s gearing.
