[dropcap]C[/dropcap]ell C has unveiled new tariff plans called Connector aimed at heavy voice and data users.
The plans offer up to 3 000 minutes of airtime to call any local network, a thousand SMSes and up to 50GB of data.
They also provide zero-rated access to Facebook (with a fair-use cap of 1GB/month).
The plans, which appear to take aim at smaller rival Telkom Mobile’s FreeMe packages, start at R499/month and go up to R1 499/month.
The R499 entry-level deal, called Connector 1, offers a thousand any-network minutes and 3GB of data (plus 3GB of data as part of a “double data” promotion for those who sign up by 30 June).
Connector 2, which costs R599/month, also offers a thousand minutes, plus 5GB (and an extra 5GB on promotion), while Connector 3, at R799/month, provides 2 000 minutes of voice calls and 10GB of data (plus 10GB on promotion). Connector 4 is the same as Connector 3, but has 20GB of data (plus 20GB).
The top-end plan, Connector 5, costs R1 499, and includes 3 000 any-network minutes and 50GB of data, again with double that available on promotion.
Out of bundle
Out-of-bundle data rates on all the plans are 15c/MB, while out-of-bundle local voice calls are billed at 50c/minute on per-second billing.
Connector is available as a Sim-only plan and can also be purchased with a smartphone for an additional cost. There is no carry-over of minutes or data to the following month.
The deals are available month to month, or on a 24-month contract when purchased with a phone. — (c) 2017 NewsCentral Media
