First National Bank has apologised for inconveniencing some of its clients on Saturday.
“We apologise to any of our customers who weren’t able to make purchases using their FNB cards a short while ago. This problem has now been resolved,” tweeted the bank on the @FNBSA twitter handle.
The bank did not go into detail as to what caused the glitch. On Saturday, irked FNB customers took to social media to vent their anger when they couldn’t use their credit and debit cards.
News24 reported earlier that many people said they had to leave their groceries at the tills as their cards declined at shops.
One such customer was Lauren Gardner:
@featherfriend tweeted @FNBSA I left trolley with goods to the value of about R12 000 at Makro’s tills because I couldn’t pay with FNB card. — News24
