There’s good news for local iPhone fans. The new iPhone 4 is likely to go on sale in SA in September, barring any unforeseen problems, TechCentral has learnt.
Vodacom, which has exclusive distribution rights for the iPhone in SA, on Tuesday announced it would be bringing the iPhone 4 into the country “in the coming months” but declined to be more specific about a launch date.
However, TechCentral has learnt that the phone will make its debut here in September — assuming all goes according to plan.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the next-generation iPhone at a media event in San Francisco on Monday. The device features a thinner design, higher-resolution screen, a 5-megapixel camera capable of shooting high-definition video, and the ability to do videoconferencing using a new front-facing camera. — Staff reporter, TechCentral
