Telkom Business is cutting the cost of its uncapped fixed-line broadband products by up to 27% on high-end packages. Customers on slower connections are having their line speeds increased.
Business customers on 384kbit/s and 1Mbit/s uncapped Internet packages will be upgraded to 1Mbit/s and 2Mbit/s uncapped packages respectively, the company says in a statement. The cost of the products will remain unchanged.
The new prices on usage products and bundles are effective immediately, while speed upgrades will commence automatically from 24 August.
These product updates follow the recent announcement by the company on the upgrade of entry-level ADSL speeds.
Telkom’s shaped, uncapped offerings now cost R420/month for a 1Mbit/s service (384kbit/s until lines are upgraded); R895/month for 2Mbit/s (1Mbit/s for now), R1 695/month for 4Mbit/s and R3 295/month for 10Mbit/s. These prices include broadband line rental but exclude basic business line rental fees.
Telkom has also cut the price of its TBiz uncapped bundles, which include a number of value-added services, such as multiple e-mail accounts and domain management services. A 2Mbit/s service (currently 1Mbit/s) will cost R995/month from R1 224 previously, while the 4Mbit/s bundle is being reduced from R2 359/month to R1 995. And 10Mbit/s bundles are going down to R3 495/month from R4 224 before.
Again, the bundle fees include broadband line rental but exclude basic business line rental. The products are available only to registered businesses and not to retail consumers. — (c) 2012 NewsCentral Media
