Lulama Mokhobo has been appointed the SABC’s new group CEO, communications minister Dina Pule said on Monday. The appointment, for five years, is with immediate effect.
Mokhobo, who replaces acting CEO Robin Nicholson at the beleaguered public broadcaster, was previously SABC group executive for public broadcasting services. She had extensive executive leadership experience in the private and public sectors, Pule said in a statement.
After obtaining her BA degree from the University of Botswana and Swaziland, Mokhobo, a former teacher, completed a master of science qualification at Utah State University in the US.
Until last week, she was chair of troubled JSE-listed Miranda Mineral Holdings. — Staff reporter, TechCentral, with Sapa
