Reunert subsidiaries Nashua ECN and Nashua Communications are to be merged on 1 October to create a new business with more than R1bn in annual revenues and 600 employees.
The combined entity will trade under the name of Nashua Communications and will be headed by the current Nashua ECN MD, Andy Openshaw.
Reunert CEO Dave Rawlinson says the merger is the “culmination of months of thought and discussion and has the full support of both of the companies’ management teams”.
Nashua Communications operates mainly in the local-area networking space, offering on-premise communication and networking solutions. Nashua ECN has a national Internet protocol-based network with points of presence and data centres in all the major metropolitan areas and operates in the voice, data and wide-area networking markets.
Rawlinson says the merger of the businesses will better help the group offer a converged communication offering to corporate customers.
The merger date of 1 October coincides with the start of Reunert’s financial year. — (c) 2012 NewsCentral Media
