Wow! TechCentral’s inaugural Tuesday Tipple went off with great success last night. Nearly 100 geeks showed up to enjoy the evening with us at The Brazen Head pub in Bryanston, north of Johannesburg.
The idea behind the Tuesday Tipple — the next one will be held in March — is to create an informal environment where people can relax and talk tech with fellow geeks. Last night certainly delivered on that.
And, thanks to MTN and Cell C, we were able to add some additional excitement to last night’s mix.
We gave away five Cell C “speed sticks”, with 60GB of data bundled on them.
Congratulations to Nikita Grant (GadgetMan), Izak Minnaar (SABC), Thabo Motinyane (Cell C, ironically), Gary Robertson (The Tech Duel) and Eugene Stolk (Jeppe Boys High School) who each bagged one of five Cell C 21Mbit/s broadband dongles.
And a big congrats to David Liebovitz of Cellfind, who won an Apple iPhone 4, worth R8 000, courtesy of MTN.
We hope everyone had a good time.
If you were there, please use the comments box below to give us feedback on what you’d like to see at the next one.
If you weren’t there, we hope to see you at the autumn event in March. — Duncan McLeod and Candice Jones, TechCentral
