Telkom is cutting the cost of data on its fibre-to-the-home and copper digital subscriber line (DSL) infrastructure, with the price of some data bundles falling by 15%.
The company’s new “Do Bundle” prices start at R399/month (reduced from R408 previously) for Do Basic, which includes up to 2Mbit/s with a 10GB soft cap, and goes up to R999/month (reduced from R1 028) for Do Elite Plus, which includes up to 40Mbit/s and a 100GB soft cap.
However, the Do Elite product will increase in price by 1% to R799/month. Customers who are currently subscribed to Do bundles will also benefit from the price reductions, Telkom said in a statement.
Line rental is included in all the bundle pricing.
Fibre prices, meanwhile, range from R699/month for a 10Mbit/s and 50GB data bundle up to R1 599 for a 100Mbit/s line and 200GB bundle (reduced by 11%).
The new pricing takes effect immediately, while the price increase on Do Elite will come into force on 1 August 2015. – © 2015 NewsCentral Media
