A free telecommunications industry conference, set to take place on 8 September in Midrand, north of Johannesburg, will explore the whether smaller market players can compete effectively with the big incumbent providers.
The event, called VoiceSA, will explore how the smaller players can take on the big boys. It will also look at where the new market opportunities can be found, delve into where the industry is headed and examine how international trends will affect the local market.
The one-day event, for which TechCentral is media partner, will also look at hot topics such as open-source software, voice-over-IP telephony and changing business models. There’ll be an interactive showcase of next-generation technologies, including high-definition voice and hosted cloud telephony.
The event will feature presentations by local and international industry experts, including Douglas Reed of Vox Telecom, Steve Song of the Shuttleworth Foundation, Wayne Speechly of Internet Solutions, Rob Lith of Connection Telecom and Frederic Dickey of Sangoma.
