Bandwidth provider Branded Internet, which provides white-label solutions for companies such as Musica and Incredible Connection, is promising to slash local wholesale bandwidth rates by up to 38%.
“Following our success in the white-label Internet service provider (ISP) market, it makes sense for us to use our buying power and infrastructure to provide high–volume bandwidth to commercial ISPs as well,” says CEO Lance Terner.
The company provides white-label Internet connection products to Incredible Connection, Musica, Sanlam Realty, Edgars Club and PC Format, among others.
Terner says the company’s wholesale rates are “up to 38% lower than current market prices, depending on the volumes they purchase”.
Branded Internet has secured access to Seacom and Sat-3 undersea cables for international capacity.
“The new wholesale solutions are targeted at providers who offer or wish to offer ADSL services. These companies will already have infrastructure such as end-user billing, helpdesk support and user management in place, and simply want to buy bulk bandwidth,” he says.
The company is aiming its product at all Internet service providers, from small, one-man businesses to the large corporate providers.
Terner says service providers can use Branded Internet’s application programming interface to manage any aspect of their customers’ accounts. The company says there will also be access to several bandwidth shaping options, depending on their needs.
“They will not need to lock themselves into long-term, multiple-year contracts to take advantage of the wholesale rates,” he adds.
According to Terner, the pricing will be transparent and there will be discounts available on a sliding scale depending on how much capacity a provider decides to purchase. — Candice Jones, TechCentral
